We want to have a logo that sets an illustrative tone for our marketing material and branding. We want to have a symbolic cat, or something that says 'cat'. Also need to have a unique, elegant and creative feeling mark. Something that says ‘foundry’ or ‘studio’. Need a logo that can guide a brand with a distinct iconic visual style. We like a lot of rustic, vintage, or water color styles. Not that those should mix (unless they mix well). The most important thing is that the illustrator's style shine through. The second most important thing: legibility without being boring!")

We primarily focus on rice bowls but also do traditional small Izakaya-style plates. Kaizen means continually improving in your craft. Our target market is younger, successful millenials.
We'd also have some interest in using traditional symbols of Japan and Korea, from the Great Wave to using their flags. The logo will be used on a website but also made into a stamp to place on packaging. We will be a delivery only restaurant, so online ordering and viewership is key. We want a blend of simplicity, elegance, and maturity for the logo (nothing too playful or cartoonish). Japanese Caligraphy (sumi-e) is a favorite of ours.")
