LVS (http://www.lvs.co.uk)
We're a London/Gibraltar based company developing a gaming/betting platform with a backend in Java and web layer in Ruby on Rails (2.3). Our current website doesn't reflect the Rails side of the business and looks too full of text rather than modern. We'd like the website to reflect the modern development tools and processes we use.
We're targeting Gaming/Betting companies that have or want sports betting websites. We have a number of active and in process projects that we'd like to highlight and sell the benefits of our software/platform and expertise. The target audience is executives in small/medium/large gaming companies, in particular the Technical Directors.
We'd like a Web 2.0 look and feel, but not cartoony. The logo is to remain the same (and a high resolution is available at http://www.lvs.co.uk/Assets/Downloa…15151.jpg) and there should be some form of the exploding balls artwork integrated somehow (http://files.getdropbox.com/u/47829…%20JPG.JPG). We like subtley rounded corners and the horizontal banding/section styles of Web 2.0.
The competition is for the homepage design, but obviously we're going to be taking the design across the whole site, so it should be obvious which sections repeat across each page.
We'd like to promote on the homepage: Random testimonial/recommendation, Screenshot(s) of the apps, features, technology choices and a random cast study.
The navigation items/structure should be as per the current main navigation on http://www.lvs.co.uk/
I've created a document with things we like/dislike and examples of sites we like the portions from at:
