New User Interface Design

Looking for new user interface design layout for our t shirt design application. It runs online and provides users with a suite of design tools and pre loaded art to easily create and purchase customized products.

"The Configurator" is the technical name of our application. It is built to give users with various skill levels the ability to easily create a compelling design that they can buy on a range of products.

T shirt design has become very popular through community and custom based websites such as Threadless.com, CafePress.com, CustomInk.com, etc. With the majority of designs being generated by the common design programs, illustrator, photoshop, corel draw, paint, etc.

The Configurator provides a free web based application that amateur and aspiring designers can use to create great designs for t shirts and posters. It is not intended to lure professional designers away from their commonly used design tools.

This contest is being run to design the new user interface concept and layout of The Configurator.

- Item 1... Main elements of the user interfaceThe canvas area: where the user will be placing design elements from the library or uploading from their desktop and manipulating themDesign Tools: Rotate, Center, Scale, FlipArt Library: where user selects design elements to go on to the canvas areaThe color scheme of the user interface should be very neutral and subtle with a lot of empty space to ensure the user's design and art library have the most visual impact.
