Ok so I have been giving huge amounts of thought what it is I exactly want in my website and unfortunately I am still not 100% sure I have some basic idea’ but that is where it stop’s, whether or not that is a good thing I am not sure about yet. But I can tell what aspects I like about other websites I have seen, and what kind of makes sense to me from and aesthetic point of view.
SBIS is an internet solutions company offering web design, web site hosting and web based application design to small businesses in South Africa and Australia. But we do have a few other product idea’s that we want to launch in the future. Because use of the internet as a business is only taking off in SA we need a website that is going to convey the message to potential customers, yes, SBIS is the way forward for your business.
Firstly if you look at my site http://www.sbis.co.za, ignore everything that you see on it except the customer adverts, and all you need to take form that is that they have to be displayed on my front page. That is the only thing I want you to bring from my old layout.
Secondly, I like glossy button and navbars, but at the same time I do not want to go BRIGHT, but I do like bright and shiny. :o$ not sure how much sense I am making there. I will try it this way, I want to keep the use of stock images down to a little as possible, so all eye candy, is going to have to be left up to the colours used on the site (button’s and containers and so on) and the effects used on the colours, such as gloss, refection and gradient’s. But I would like this done in a tasteful way, so that someone the comes to the site does not look at it and say, “Oh Gloss for Gloss’s sake”
I cannot put my finger on exactly what I would like for my site, but I will know it when I see it. But I did like the points that we made in this artcel, http://f6design.com/journal/2006/10…of-web-20/.
