We are startup with a great idea (probably patentable) that will allow us to eat Groupon's lunch. We can't share the great idea with you right now, but in 12 months people could be mentioning us as the company that destroyed that $15 billion dollar valuation.
And you could be the designer that got us launched.
Okay we might be a bit big headed (we prefer to think ambitious) but hey, who would have thought that selling coupons would turn into a 15 billion dollar business two years ago.
Our target audience are Groupon's target audience. 68% are 18 to 34 and 77% are women.
Having said that the design has to appeal to both men and women.

Phase 1 of what we are doing is essentially a clone of Yipit. See http://www.yipit.com. Yipit is a deal aggregation website that pulls in deals from a variety of providers.
We have purchased a script from Agriya and you can see it here at http://www.sift.ie
What we need is for you to make it beautiful.
The first thing we need done is to have the landing page made eyecatching.
You can see this landing page here at http://www.sift.ie. For reference see also 1-Landing Page.png
The second is the main deal display page. We would like this to look like 2-Deal List Page.png. This is similar to the current deal list page that you can get to by logging in to sift.ie, but has the addition of a filtering column on the left. We want this page to be three column with 200px, 550px and 250px as shown.
Feel free to move the page elements around. IE, we are not necessarily looking for the page elements to be exactly as in the demo, however, don't feel you have to move them if you think they work well as they are.
Note: We do not want a map based interface.
Note re logo. We want the logo to be simpy the name (sift.ie) as illustrated on the website. You can recolour it to make it fit in with the overal scheme of things. Sift.ie is the brand name but we want to keep a low profile, which is why se called ourselves softie above. A sample of the logo font has been uploaded. The font is Akzidenz Grotesk, but Helvetica or Arial would be close.
Here are a couple of websites for deal aggregation that you might find of interest.
They use a cityscape picture of each city, so sign up to see the full city display.
For ref only. We do not want a map based interface.
