Wordplay is a simple game that makes it really easy to learn and remember Spanish words and phrases. It has been used by over 300,000 teachers and students which are the primary target audience, although I plan to eventually target all age groups and add other languages.

Welche Vorstellungen haben Sie bezüglich Stil und Thema vom web page?
My primary goals for the site are simple, clean, fun. I want the visual style to reinforce how easy it is to use. Also, it must be easy to adapt the design for mobile devices. In fact, I expect most users to be on smartphones. I prefer lots of whitespace. I also prefer a white or light background to dark backgrounds. I just completed a logo design contest, and I'd like to incorporate the new logo into the website design. Although that logo is green, I prefer blue as the primary brand color. I'd like to have a nice color palette with a variety of vibrant colors, but not overused.

The homepage should be a quick introduction to the site and provide a basic overview of how it works. You can look at the current homepage at http://www.wordplay.com and see an initial cut at what I'm thinking for the new site at http://alpha.wordplay.com.
The Lesson page shows off contents of a lesson which primarily consists of a collection of word tiles. I've attached a wireframe. You can view an ugly working version of this page at http://alpha.wordplay.com/lesson/58447. The word tiles have some important constraints which are described in the attached image TilesOverview. First, the aspect ratio of the image is fixed, because I have a bunch of existing images that must fit. The blue text on the tile is the spanish word or phrase which may extend over two lines so there must be enough space for this. Some tiles have additional green text at the bottom that serves as "context", so there must be enough space for this. Finally, at the bottom of the tile is the "mastery meter" which fills green as the student develops mastery and then blue as the student develops long term retention. So designs must show at least some tiles with all of these features. Note, clicking on the tile causes the english to be shown instead of the spanish. All of the content from the sample page must be included in the design including the name of the course (which links back to a course page), the name of the lesson (which is a dropdown that makes is easy for a student to jump to another lesson in the same course, and the student's current mastery and retention for this lesson.
The final page is the student dashboard. This provides the main page where a student goes upon login. It shows them their current key metrics and makes it easy for them to jump to recent lessons. I'm attaching a wireframe. I expect to add some additional data points and charts to this page over time.
