We are a premium coffee shop and international food cafe in Washington, DC. This ain't no national chain, this is a legit shop where we only serve the top roaster in the country, and it's 100% fair trade and 100% organic. But if our coffee wasn't great enough by its self, we also have a very unique food concept. We make just one main dish a day, but it changes every day of the month (and we publish a calendar). It's always incredibly delicious and is from a different part of the world (Indian, Middle Eastern, Thai, Latin, Greek, etc). We love coffee and food from around the world and we want the visitors to the site to immediately get that.

We are launch our second, much larger location in 6 weeks and need the new design to be in line with our launch.

People who live, or are traveling to, DC and love coffee and food. A flare for international culture, travel and ethnic food is also a big pull for the type of customers we attract.

While we serve foods from around the world, we always focus on being a very local and neighborhood friendly cafe. We love DC and we want it to show.

See poundcoffee.com for current site. We need something that shows very well, follows a very simple content layout (less is more for sure) and features pictures more than verbiage.

Page 1 - Landing page (I expect this to be 80% of the views):

I've refined exactly what I want this main page of the site to do as we've gone through this process. There are two functions for people on the main home page:

1. See what food we are serving that day. The starting picture will change daily based on what we are serving and we have a large online following of people who go to see what we are serving each day to decide if they want to come in.

2. Find out where we are. We get a decent amount of google traffic and the primary goal of someone googling a restaurant is to find out where it is and how to get there.
Contains slideshow of food pictures

Eye grabbing enough that people want to find out where we are and Fan us on facebook. Must be a very sexy (yet still subtle and not over the top) design that is impactful, yet sleek.
Facebook widget integration (as well as badges for Twitter, Yelp, FourSquare)
Basic navigation somewhere for Menu, Locations, About Pound.

Page 2 - Content page layout:
Same header, footer, navigation as primary template. This just has more of a content area for us to fill in the appropriate content, as opposed to slideshows, pictures, etc.

Highly visible image that shows the name of our two locations (Pound - NoMa and Pound The Hill) and links to our location page.

Pros:
Pictures, slideshow (albeit shitty)
Short, concise content
Facebook integration

Cons:
Too simple of a design. Not eye catching enough.
Not enough color.
Menu is a PDF, need to have content page so this can be in HTML. As well as a spot for announcing new location.
Hours of store, phone number, etc should not be on main page. They need to be on location content page for each location.
