You Profit Marketing, Inc.
Thanks again for doing the past two logo projects I needed. Now I thought I'd get your help with a website. My core business is creating and implementing direct response marketing campaigns for small businesses.
Example: owner of a bakery wants to sell more bread, I write a sales pitch about how great his product are and women come into the store by the hundreds (real story) that campaign is getting a 14% response rate and 90% up-sells in the store.
I've either done, organized, or created everything from: print ads, local SEO, national PPC, sales scripts, sales letters, squeeze page copy, magazine ads, etc.
The purpose of this website (and accompanying blog...contest soon on 99Designs) is to generate leads for my business of creating these campaigns. The majority of my current leads are from direct mail sales letters and referrals from past and current clients.
The site will be heavy on content and video, I've always found that people are looking for information and giving it to them is the best way to get them to trust you enough to sell to them later.
The accompanying blog will be wordpress based. I already have a server and ftp client set up. I'm barely competent at anything involving HTML but I can iFrame and simple stuff like that.
Small businesses that spend at least $1,000 per month on marketing. I seem to work really well with plain jane business like bakeries: restaurants, lighting manufactures, hot tub dealers etc.
This isn't to say I wouldn't want to write copy for software or something like that. But when I look at my current client this is the theme.
Soon I will have Dream weaver so I'll be learning how to play around with design. I must be able to manage this website myself.
My HTML competencies are pretty sparse, in that, I can i-frame a page and set up re-directs and cloaking through my sever and ftp client (can you tell I had a hand in PPC affiliate marketing???)
Accompanying blog with be wordpress based.
My email autoresponder is GetResponse but I might switch back to InfusionSoft
I have a whole selection of plug in's from MaxBlogPress that work fantastic, so if you take a peak over there it might help get you an idea of the look.
Visually the website should be clean and easy to navigate. Please keep in mind the absolute basics for SEO like: T/S privacy, contact us, services, etc.
For each topic or service there will be a video or sales pitch then a squeeze page or opt-in for more info/pricing. It is critical that these invoke a person's response. If you have previous experience with what works and what doesn't in opt-ins then please show your stuff here.
I've managed over 300k Adword ads so I know how hard it can be to make profitable websites with expensive traffic.
My ICV (Immediate client value is $500) my lifetime client value is around $8,000.
