The overall main color(s) should be blue, but you are free to use any additional colors that you think would look good. The logo is included and should be incorporated in the page design. While the logo implies a bit of “whimsy,” for lack of a better word, we don’t necessarily want that whimsical feel to pervade the overall design – the focus should be on the chess game. Here are the priorities for the design as we see them:
3.) Easy on the eyes (beware of high/hot colors)
The page will be the main game page. The chess board will dominate this page and should be at the visual center as much as possible.
The page should be based on a screen width of 1024 pixels.
The main navigation should be left to right across the top, and feature the following items:
There should be a distinct footer.
The chessboard colors should not be white and black, especially as the black squares would make a black piece disappear when placed on it.
For the chessboard controls for the we would like it to incorporate the following:
+ Two large-ish buttons (which will be the primary controls), one for submit (move), and one for undo (move)
+ The names and avatar and rating of each player, (one top and one bottom – white/black).
+ The time left for each player
+ A flip board button/icon
