Design a cool, techy/corporate looking IT business web site. Provide us with PSD files. Site will be HTML based, not flash.
On-site Computer & Network Services is a small business
which provides IT services to both corporate and residential customers. Their
current site is over 8 years old and is in need of a redesign (http://www.oscs.com.au). The
services which OSCS provide include:
- Onsite
computer repairs & maintenance
- Retail
selling of computer hardware
- Installation
of cabling, telephony, alarms & surveillance
- VOIP
Hardware sales & installation
- Reselling
of VOIP network services (ie. Engin) We need you to design the graphics for the home page of the site.
The winning designer must do the following:
- You
will supply us with the Adobe Photoshop PSD file, while we will code the
site using HTML and CSS
- Rollover
styling of buttons (eg. off-state, over-state & selected-state)
- Visit our web site to download files for the project including a wireframe layout, the company logo, and some photography of a company van you may want to use.
- Site
should look light-weight, clean, professional and "techy" (more
corporate than personal)
- Use
green, blue and white colour scheme (for examples of the colour scheme see
the current site and these graphics of the van and logo. However,
you can use slightly different shades if you wish)
- Content
area should have white background (for product images)
- 764px
fixed-width graphic design
- Preferably
a sans-serif font for any text.
- Leave
space under the "Subscribe" box for miscellaneous content such
as "Virus Advisory" feeds
- We're
willing to spend up to 20 credits on iStockPhoto for any stock photography
you would like to use (this will not come out of the prize money).
- Don't
feel too restricted by the wire frame. It is a guide as to where we want
content elements, not what we want them to look like.Other Notes
- Demographic
is mainly small to medium-sized businesses (but still some non-corporate
users using the site)
- "Australia-wide
delivery!" (can be used as some sort of tag line if you want, but
this shouldn't feature too prominently as it's not an online store)
- Client
liked the look and feel of:- http://www.gsoft.biz
- We
like the feel of sites such as: - http://www.lubemobile.com.au
- Preferably,
no Flash will be used unless you want to incorporate it in the form of an
animated banner. If you choose to do this, we will also need an associated
Macromedia Flash MX .FLA file.
- Headings will be text-based so don't use
fonts that aren't "web-safe"
- Avoid
drop shadows and other such effects on button text as this will ideally be
plain text (except the big “Submit Onsite Request” button).
