Felicity and Lily
My sister recently had twin daughters and I would like to put together a photographic journal of their first months as an extra special Birthday/Christmas present for the new family. I have had a go at picking up InDesign myself but I would like your help to do the job properly.
These beautiful little girls had a difficult start to life due to the nature of the delivery and so they are all the more precious to the whole family. We would like to give them a fitting reminder that they will be able to treasure for their whole lives.
We are a small British family from the North of England. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me directly.
The two girls of course, very close friends and family members only.
Felicity and Lily are the twin girls who the journal will be following. Since the birth, several months ago, Mum and Dad have been using Twitter and TwitPic to record all of the developments. There are now several hundred "tweets" and a few dozen photographs to be inserted into the journal.
What I would like is to design a template for the journal including a cover, table of contents, a foreword and a variety of general page templates that feature different arrangements of Tweets* and photographs. If you are not familiar with Twitter and Tweets, you can treat them as very short 140ish character messages that should be displayed with a time stamp.
Due to privacy reasons, I cannot share the complete index of messages or photographs but I shall include some specimens for you to test out your concept with. The page designs should be classic, elegant, feminine in a subtle way (so no hot pinks). Pastel shades on the other hand would be good. Roses and Lilies in the design would also be very popular.
I would like to see at least 5 different page layouts (not counting the cover/foreword/table of contents) and I will insert the content myself.
These should be very simple, one might be a full page picture, another might be four text boxes with one "tweet" in each. The others will probably be a combination of pictures, tweets and any other text boxes or artwork that you would like to add.
There will be a very low density of printed text on any one page. Just a few tweets perhaps supplemented by another text box with a one paragraph commentary with some background information.
I have enclosed the specifications for the book printing process, either of these sizes would be acceptable.
What other questions do you have?
