A Mid-Life American Dream
I support entrepreneurs and the history of American innovation. I believe that in addition to individuals like Washington, Jefferson, and Adams, we owe a debt of gratitude to Edison, Ford, and Bell. The political and economic stories of America are not parallel, but intertwined.
I have written a book about a fairly recent development in the world of startup companies and entrepreneurs. Right now only a small percentage of Americans are participating, but only because there is a lack of accessible information. I hope to resolve that problem, and give a little push to the economic development of America.
My target audience is the sweet spot of U.S. consumerism: Baby Boomers. They are 76 million strong, and they are looking for meaningful and profitable ways to spend their time as they wind down their careers.
More specifically I am targeting Baby Boomers who are also accredited investors. There are approximately 10 to 20 million Americans in this category. These are individuals who earn more than $200,000 a year or have a net worth of over $1 million.
This book is about angel investor groups. These are groups of people who invest in startup companies together. This is NOT a business book. This is a book for wealthy people who do not have MBA's or accounting degrees.
I'm looking for a statue of liberty with angelic wings to grace my book cover. She should be stepping off the pedestal, right foot on tip-toes as she leans forward, and the left foot slightly back and already off the ground, with toe pointed somewhat back.
The perspective should be a profile shot of her left side, as if you were looking toward the North and she was taking off due West.
The style should be light, airy and sketchy. Her robe should be white and green, with green accents for the folds etc. Her headpiece must take on a yellow hue, and have an aura like a halo, but still be on her head.
The wings should be small, but still proportional, and light and sketchy as well. The wings should be even fainter than lady liberty herself. I’m not looking for muscular, archangel wings, and they don’t necessarily need to look “attached.”
The Title is “A Mid-Life American Dream.” The subtitle is “The Rise of Angel Groups.” The book cover will be matte, not shiny. The paperback book will be 4 1/8" by 6 7/8", and the spine will be 3/8" thick.
My preference right now is for a white background, but I am also open to a nighttime background of black, or a dusky purple background. and any duskiness must not just be a uniform purple, but instead artfully dusky.
Good luck, and look forward to lots of feedback.
