The Broke Guide series from LGM3 (http://www.LGM3.com)
The Broke Agent's Guide to Getting More Customers is a new book from LGM3. We (LGM3) help turn Real Estate Agents (and other professionals) into sought after experts using new media and new marketing solutions for today's economy. The authors, Greg Pitstick and William Brown, are retired consultants and entrepreneurs who started LGM3 (Let's Go Make More Money) to serve Real Estate Agents across the U.S. We provide agents with education, coaching, and marketing programs and solutions that are designed to work in today's market. Meaning, our solutions use the concept of attraction marketing (vs. traditional interuption-based marketing and brand-type marketing typically employed by Realtors today). Our solutions are designed to capitalize on the use of social media and the internet.
Our target market for this book is Real Estate Agents in the 50 states and Canada who are looking for ways to find more customers to grow their business. We recently surveyed over a thousand agents to determine what they felt was their #1 problem in this awful real estate market we're in. The clear winner was Getting More Customers, followed by Getting More Referrals (very similar to #1) and Being Known as the Expert in their Area(which also leads to more customers). So the big need is getting more customers.
The average Realtor in the US is a 52 year old Woman and while they see being a real estate agent as their career, they are often not the primary bread winner in the family.
We have found that most agents feel "Broke", even if they are making good money. We think of "Broke" as a state of mind more than a purely economic measure. Much like our parents/grandparents who came through the Great Depression and always felt and acted as if they were broke and had to be very careful about every dollar they spent. The vast majority of agents would identify more with being "Broke" than being flush with money than they can spend any way the want.
The Broke Agent's Guide to Getting Mre Customers will be the first of our books for real estate agents. Later we may branch out to other professionals and small business owners (eg; The Broke Contractors Guide to ...).
We are looking for the Front Cover and (optional)Spine design for the book. The book will probably be 6"w x 8.25" to 9" tall (we're early in this process). We'll want the image in a 300 dpi jpeg and layered photoshop formats.
We want elements of this cover to form a template/Brand for the whole "The Broke xxxx Guide" series, where the rest of the title and other graphic elements would change based on the subject matter of that particular guide.
We envision something like the "for Dummies" books (http://www.dummies.com) or to a lessor extent the "Complete Idiots Guide to" books (http://www.IdiotsGuides.com). We like the cartoonish aspect of the Dummies guides over photo elements of the Idiots guides. In fact we would like a character (like Dummies uses) or graphic that we could use as a moniker for the "Broke" in the the Broke Agent brand (broke person-maybe with pockets pulled out, or piggy bank with chain/belt and lock, etc.)
The cover will need the following:
-Full title "The Broke Agent's Guide to Getting More Customers"
-Subtitle: "How to get more customers without spending a ton of cash"
-both author names: Greg Pitstick first, William Brown second
-the word "Broke" should be distinguished in some way (see our working sample attached)
If you do the spine, we want it to stand out and look good on the book shelf. We expect the final book to be in the 175 page range +/-.
The winner will be credited as the cover designer inside the book, we will keep the copyright. We would also look to the winner first for future book covers as well as other in-book illustrations and web graphics that we'll need.
