Concept and layout of an editorial design based on our CI guidelines
Our daily business is to write "insights" for customers from a lot of data. Often the data comes from research projects or studies that were not collected exclusively for a customer. We want to use this variety of data sensibly and nicely "second-hand" and make it available to the target group.
We would like to summarize topics and / or industry specifics in mashup magazines and use them as an entrée to customers. The release cycle is not fixed and will determine when we have enough interesting news from one area to be published. The first report will be published in September 2018, after which we expect 2-4 magazines per year.
The look and feel of the magazine should be modern, innovative, human instead of factual, creative instead of dry, surprising instead of retracted, inspiring rather than instructive, reliable, confident, understandable and clear.
Goal: We would like to receive a template in InDesign, in which we ourselves can incorporate the editorial contents, graphics and images, so that we can create magazines for different branches / topics after creating the basic layout. Conceivable follow-up orders in the form of individual graphics with the core statements of the respective magazine.
Scope: We plan about 80-100 pages per magazine. The design layout for the basic layout should contain the following elements:
Cover design, editorial / foreword, table of contents, 4 double-pages of text (including images, filters for (our own) photos as chapter divider, pagination, typography, headlines, subheadlines, captions, body text), imprint, graphic elements like IconSets (alternative Selection of FlatIcon), Teaser, Quote, Take aways, Table, Bar and Pie Chart.
Format: DIN A4 alternatively portrait or landscape format (design decides)
Color: 4-color, with photos and text
Cover: made of sturdier material, just for information, we take pressure
File format: InDesign
Font: s. CI usually Fago Regular and Bold, in ppts Arial, newly used: DIN Condensed, possibly for magazine a new but to CI matching font
