Encountour is a start-up travel company focused on providing meaningful travel experiences to North American college students.
Our mission is to offer extraordinary travel experiences that will enable participants to appreciate the world we share.
Our slogan is "Encounter Your World" We want people to become active citizens in the global community.
We organize volunteer trips and adventure trips during college vacations to countries throughout the developing world. It is important to us that students truly immerse themselves in the cultures of the countries they visit while also having fun.
Our trips are an alternative experience to what college students typically do over their school breaks (work in an office, sit at home watching TV, or spend a week drinking on the beach). We provide a unique experience that they will remember for the rest of their lives.
We are going to be doing lots of design work in the near future, and we would like to work with the contest winner and/or possibly other artists who submit designs.
We are targeting U.S. college students (ages 18-22) who are interested in pursuing unconventional travel.
Our market is divided into 2 groups: One group is very passionate about meaningful travel, volunteering, and making the world a better place. The other group is excited by adventure travel to exotic destinations--they love having fun, enjoying their youth, doing crazy things, and being able to brag to their friends about their cool experiences.
To address this market, we offer 2 types of trips: a) volunteer trips that allow college students to help local communities in the developing world. b) adventure trips that allow students to participate in exciting and "off the beaten path" activities. We want students to realize that they can find meaning and excitement in their lives if they look for it.
In either case, the logo should reflect the idea that students are seeing a world beyond what is familiar to them. This logo should stimulate students to think of exotic and alternative college break destinations, and it should encourage viewers to "open their eyes" to new lands, cultures, and experiences.
Our winter break and spring break travel experiences should be seen as once in a lifetime opportunities. When a college student thinks of meaningful travel or adventure travel to the developing world, we want them to think of us.
The logo should convey a sense of boldness and energy. It should express the ideas of: life-changing experience, helping others, adventure, cultural exchange, and unconventional travel. It should represent a professional & established company with a grassroots feel. It should be in vector format.
We have already made a very simple sample of what we are looking for at: http://www.encountour.com/logo.html. This sample needs lots of work, but it should hopefully give you a rough idea as to the type of design we are looking for. We are not tied to it, or to the fonts used. Feel free to be creative!
The name Encountour should appear in the logo, but we probably do not want the slogan to be in the logo.
We would like our logo to be more professional and clean than the version we have posted. It should be extremely simple and should look good in both color and B&W (please include a B&W version so that we can make sure it looks good). For the color version, please do NOT match the colors of this design to our website--we are going to completely change our site. Also, try to limit the number of colors used to lower copying costs.
The logo will be used on lots of promotional material around college campuses. It should catch a student’s attention, appeal to their longing for adventure, and it should look really cool and interesting on t-shirts and other products (water bottles, etc.)
