Eco Nicki is a new online and retail eco store as well as an individual 'eco' identity. Nicki is a professional sustainability industry person who presents and writes about all things 'eco' and 'green'.
The business focusses on product sustainability as well as style. The two elements - the store and the blog, require a logo which can be used for the retail business as well as the blog identity.
We will sell a range of clothing and home/giftwares, with each product telling the story of its production and highlighting its social and environmental attributes. While products will be selected on style and 'wow' factor, their sustainability - eg: manufacturing method, recyclability or reuse, packaging, social impact or input, material selection, etc is critical, and this will be reflected in the operation and design of the business.
Mainly female, online savvy people seeking sustainable products and information. Also referred to as 'LOHAS' people. They know about sustainability and are particularly seeking products that reflect their values. They also value style and function and consider that 'green is the new black'.
We are completely open to your brilliant concepts, designs, fonts, colours and layouts, however, our thoughts to date are:
We use the following tag and would like to separate 'Eco' and 'Nicki' with a tree-like or other environment type design. This could also be done with colour change.
Sustainable. Style. Store.
Colour needs to be attractive to females but not to the exclusion of males. Green should be included and we would prefer 'earthy' colours but also needs to be stylish. Green+blue is too common in the industry. No metalics, block or background colour.
Fonts need to be simple, modern and stylish. Not too many, not too thick, not to thin! A byline font that reflects a personal touch, such as a script, could work. Open to both lower or upper case ideas, eg: eco nicki or Eco Nicki.
Sustainability and use - sustainability of all designs will be a key consideration - eg: amount of ink required, colour saturation, etc. The logo will be printed with vegetable based inks on post-consumer recycled card - never bright white and often quite brown. The logo will be used for business cards, shopfront, signs, swing tags, t-shirts and website banner.
