After 12 years in the marketing and business world, I took a year off to travel the world in search of deeper meaning in my life that far outstretched money and achievement. Along the way and completely unexpectedly, I discovered Photography and then Art. It was one simple art competition, which my brother urged me to join which changed everything and set me on this path. After spending only 5 days creating a small collection of art, I simply knew that this was what I wanted to do. The creation of these works now fulfills me in a new deeper way and gives my soul a voice and an expression it did not have before. I am currently working on a collection of Art inspired by this adventure. The art will showcase my love and inspiration of this world, the bold risk in doing something like this at all, my desire to transport viewers to far off lands and just to make the world a little more beautiful.
The logo should reflect what the art hopes to accomplish.
How my art is different:
I print my photos on interesting materials like aluminum and wood and then use industrial building elements like wire mesh and metal brackets, pipes, etc and nail/screw them to the material in order to create dimension and tell a story. It’s a way of bringing hard building materials and organic landscape photography together to transport and inspire a viewer. Ultimately, I will also be incorporating embedded lighting in order to further bring these images to life. This concept will blur the lines between photography, art, sculpture, etc…mixed media.
Starry Rabbit’s brand values are:
Inspiring: I really want to inspire viewers and take them out of the humdrum of everyday life
Bold: I want my creations to be bold, unapologetic in their construction – I want to take risks with new materials, techniques, e
“Transportative”: I want to take you to these far off lands which sometimes only live in people’s imagination
Beautiful: enough said
And if you are wondering where the name Starry Rabbit comes from – “Star” is the meaning of my first name. Sohail is Persian word referring to one of the brightest constellations in the southern hemisphere – it was used by the Bedouins when crossing the desert at night. Coelho is a Portuguese word for rabbit. So there you have it!
old school wax seal (each piece of art will come with a story of what inspired the work, a serial # and a wax seal of authenticity)
stamped onto aluminum
Logo should say at the most:
Photography & Art by Sohail Coelho”
But I understand that is a lot in a logo so do your best. Perhaps long and short versions should be created.
I love the idea of a self-contained emblem or stamp that can go anywhere and stands well on It’s own because the design is boxed in.
Important Note: No bunnies should be hurt (or incorporated) in the making of this logo.
