The Burst of Colour Foundation
We are a new foundation based in Vancouver, Canada that is focused on raising money for programs aimed at supporting LGBT youth (and in particular, supporting programs aimed at combating anti-gay bullying and promoting diversity in secondary and post-secondary schools).
The logo for the Burst of Colour Foundation needs to appeal to two diverse audiences. First and most significantly, it needs to appeal to our donor base, which in our initial stages is most likely to be made up of LGBT professionals and business owners, but will hopefully also grow to include mainstream companies and straight allies.
However, the logo also needs to appeal to LGBT youth - the individuals who will be impacted by the programs which the Foundation will be funding.
!!!!please note: currently travelling only with an ipad, which is making the ranking and eliminating of designs difficult. Please be patient :)
The logo should be clean, relatively modern, and unique. We would like the logo to incorporate colour (whether you want to include all of the colours in the "rainbow flag", or just some of them, or other colours is up to you).
****ADDENDUM*** The colours should probably be bright and lively.
The overall design needs to be something that can be reduced in size easily and still clearly made out (for example if it were to show up on the bottom of a poster or other marketing material for an even).
PLEASE spell the name of the organization correctly. It is "The Burst of Colour Foundation".
The logo should convey positive energy and excitement. It should also use a typeface that is clear. Overall, the logo should be easily recognizable on a variety of backgrounds and in a variety of sizes. Stylized fireworks or paint splotches come to mind as possibilities, but don't let those suggestions limit you.
The colour should be limited to the graphic element of the design; we would prefer the text to be in plain black.
Depending on the success of this process, we may be using a design contest for the development of a website also, so you may wish to consider how the logo would work in a web environment.
We will require the finished product in a vector file format (preferably Adobe Illustrator (.ai), and as a .jpeg.
The Foundation will be registering the trademark in the winning logo design, so no clip art or other elements which may infringe on the intellectual property of others can be used.
