Onliners at http://www.onliners.com.au
Shazian.com.au started in June 1994, with a techy programming focus... 15 years later we need to get with the image, design, branding demands of our growing client base. So we've launched Onliners and are looking for a whole new look and feel - the logo will be the basis of that, used on our website, business cards, letterhead, brochures etc
Our audience is Australian small businesses, particularly those that are based on a single personality eg. BecPierce.com and AnneSargeant.com.au
You're totally free to be creative. I'm a programmer - visually illiterate! So even articulating what I want is difficult for me and I'd love to be surprised by some great design.
I want it to be unique - no clip art or stock images. I'd prefer photos or original graphic elements not cartoons.
For themes, I'd like it to have some kind of element that symbolises both people and connectedness (if not the internet itself eg. links).
For colours, I'm fairly open, but I'd like it to translate well to a greyscale version for newspaper advertising etc. I'm currently thinking of bright yellow, very happy, optimistic and instantly recogniseable. Perhaps a yellow balloon smiley face on a bright blue sky. I'd also like to incorporate the royal blue of traditional hyperlinks, as an homage to our early roots in the Internet industry. Bright yellow and royal blue will also make it easy to carry the logo through to clothing uniforms. I've done my crude attempt at what is in my head on the current homepage at http://www.Onliners.com.au
I like unique typefaces, but it has to stand out and be easily recognised, not hard to read. So I'd prefer a traditional one that is easy to read than a new one that has readability issues.
We need both web and print files of the finished logo, and it needs to scale from a tiny 50 pixel high version (for use on client sites) to a full page version.
