Main Street Fair
We are an online auctions and classified ads site that gives back to America's schools. It comes out of our pocket, not the seller's. We need to attract more sellers to list on the site. While we want to be profitable, we also want to help schools. Our site is fun and easy to navigate.
Our target audience is anyone that sells online--retailers, individual sellers, students that can use the site to buy/sell books FREE via our classified ads. People that come to the site and want to use it are primarily here to make money from their products. We want to brand ourselves as exceptionally user friendly, a seller's low-fee paradise, a shoppers dream with great deals, a friend to students, a supporter of education.
The logo should be an easy and fast read so sellers know this is a serious but happy, fun, user friendly and profitable auctions/classified ads site the second they land on it. We also donate a percentage of the listing fees to America's schools, but don't want to be thought of as a charity. Sellers/buyers must realize we are primarily about e-commerce. The logo must convey this message instantaneously. Please consider our name: Main Street Fair. Maybe a combination of serif and sans serif to give it that "theme park" look, but still a quick read. An implication of a street sign? You're the artist. We intend to lighten up the turquoise background or make it a gradient to air it out. The logo tag now reads you buy, you sell, we give. Change to: Sell more. Save more. Help more. Make vertical for easy read/more powerful? We're open to ideas. We have flash images on which we are replacing our slogans with 1 only to read: The online auctions community that gives back. The eye should first go to the logo and then to the slogan i.e. the design must complement this slogan's background, which we will redesign based on your logo. It's important to first Google Main Street Fair before submitting designs. Feel free to design what you believe is representative of our site, yet also keep in mind our immediate goal of branding this as a serious, yet happy, easy-to-use e-commerce site.
