Tapjoy is the leading provider of monetization and distribution services for mobile and social applications -- mostly gaming applications on the iPhone, Android, Facebook, MySpace, etc. We let online and mobile gamers earn virtual currency within a game (that they can then use to buy virtual goods or to advance within the game, for example) by taking part in targeted advertising offers such as free trials, surveys, discounts, etc. For example, if you're playing a game on your iPhone and you want to "level up" faster, you can sign up for a Netflix subscription and get rewarded with X number of virtual points that will help you level up. It's a win-win-win scenario: the gamer wins because they get to level up faster, the game developer earns money (from Netflix), and the advertiser (Netflix in this case) gets a new customer. We have built a large and successful company with this method, but it's time to "freshen up" our brand, so we're looking to give our logo a new look and feel, something cool and exciting.

Mostly mobile application developers -- people and companies building games for the iPhone, Android and Blackberry platforms, as well as social application developers -- those building games on Facebook, MySpace, hi5, etc. These guys like to have fun (it's part of their business after all), but they also take their games very seriously.
I'm mostly looking for a logo that is understated and simple, like most great logos are. It should rely mostly on the font treatment for its effectiveness. I don't want it to get too cute with icons or graphics, though something subtle could be effective. It should use the orange and dark blue colors featured in the current logo (attached).
