TikiBits makes fun iPhone apps. Most of our titles are games. We chose the name "TikiBits" to evoke the contemporary "Tiki" culture theme (relaxing in a rattan beach chair next to a bamboo torch, tropical drink in hand), combined with the computer term "bits," meaning the contents of the binary file that makes up a computer application. Tiki + Bits = fun computer apps.
Those of you with dirty minds will read the name as "private parts of a tiki." That certainly wasn't our intent, but if you think you can come up with a clever and funny but tasteful and family-friendly representation of that interpretation, please have fun with it.
About the brand name: one word, never two. If your design works better with the alternate spelling "Tikibits," we'll consider it.

iPhone and iPod Touch owners who enjoy casual games and entertainment apps. To be more specific, we are more likely to target a busy mom who is looking for a 99-cent app to entertain her child while shopping, rather than a hardcore 24-year-old World of Warcraft gamer.
We prefer simple over complex. Ideally, a child will be able to draw a recognizable version of the logo after seeing it briefly.
We prefer logos that can be meaningfully represented as a 16x16 favicon on a website. This means that the graphic component of the logo should be simple, distinctive, flexible, and separable from the "TikiBits" text.
No tag line.
We would prefer no mobile phone iconography, but if you feel it's necessary to include one, the phone must NOT be recognizable as a particular brand (e.g., no iPhones).
We prefer single-color designs, or else judicious use of very few colors.
Although Tiki culture does include rum drinks, because our target audience covers kids, we can't have references to alcohol in our brand.
Formats: the basic logo can be any size, but please provide an example at 32x32 to demonstrate iconic usage.
