We're a New Hampshire-based start up planning to launch a daily deals website (similar to Groupon, BuyWithMe, etc.) aimed at consumers and businesses in New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont.
We want to provide an amazing daily deals experience for local, small businesses and consumers here in beautiful northern New England.
Consumers will sign up at our website and receive an email everyday offering them a deal at up to 90% off regular prices. If some minimum number of consumers agree to buy the deal (i.e., gopher it!/go for it!) then the deal is on and they can purchase until the expiration date or a limit is reached.
Consumers obviously benefit from low cost and great value. Businesses benefit from wide promotion and a low cost/low risk opportunity for consumers to try their product/service and keep coming back.
GopherDeals.com wants a logo that will appeal to residents and businesses in northern New England.
Our site is only as good as the deals we provide and one of our most important tasks will be to work with local, small business owners to create interesting deals that will attract many new customers. Our business audience includes owners/general managers of: restaurants; salons; spas; gyms; yoga studios; hotels; ski and golf resorts. We want to offer services including cosmetic dentistry, golf, skiing, boat tours, museums, trains rides; We'll apply the compelling and attractive new logo you design on our b-cards, PowerPoint presentations, leave behind material and website as we introduce the group buying/coupon opportunity to local merchants and partner with them to produce amazing deals for consumers in Northern New England.
While we want our offers to appeal to a wide range of consumers, data indicates that 20 to 50 yo women living in or near small cities, as well as to college students will be key markets. We think our audience will be educated, technology savvy, smart consumers with a good sense of humor.
Our interactions with consumers will involve three calls to action:
(1) sign up for our email list;
(2) click through the daily email and buy the deal; and
(3) tell your friends, family, co-workers and classmates to do #1 and #2 above.
The logo you design should be versatile enough to work on our:
- web site (computer, mobile)
- email lists
- business cards and stationary
- t-shirts for street teams signing people for email
- Facebook and Twitter feeds.
The primary use will be digital so the logo should size well.
We want to communicate: fun; good value; trustworthiness; and for New England by New England.
We like the idea of a gopher cartoon/mascot and could envision working with you later to create various versions of our mascot participating in various fun activities by dressing him up as a skiier, golfer, etc. Please take a look at dealchicken.com or dealmaestro.com for examples of mascots/cartoon logos that we like. We intend to use the gopher concept in a variety of ways on the site and think a cute mascot would add a lot of value. I realize a good mascot take a lot of effort to design so have increased the prize amount to compensate designers for their time and encourage more entries.
Colors are your choice too. We prefer something more subdued than garish. I'm partial to the color green so that will definitely catch my eye. The logo should look good against a white background.
We would like either GopherDeals.com or GopherDeals (no dot com) in the logo.
