Fliptog
I am a 26 yr old student starting a new brand of flip flops called FlipTogs. They will initially be sold in downtown Austin, TX (6th Street bar and tourist district). I would like the brand to translate to other types of clothing as well as shoes. The brand should convey youth, a casual attitude, fun, friends, college life, music, and freedom. Like most college students, the brand should be edgy but not explicit or offensive. A good example here is the term "shacking" - which refers to staying the night at another person's house.
FYI: "Togs" in the brand name Fliptog, are defined as a set of clothing and accessories for a specific purpose. Think "ski togs", or "party togs".
The initial product will be flip flops and will target women in the 18-25 yr old segment. However, I would like the logo to be appropriate for both genders. The target audience consists of prospective students visiting college campuses, current undergraduate student, and recent graduates.
I have attached a word cloud generated by prospective customers which should help frame the audience.
1) A logo that is relatively simple, but also memorable. It should convey a youthful attitude. The logo must be simple enough to be placed on a flip flop strap or heel without losing its identity. In other words, it should be wider than it is tall and should be recognizable in a single color. I also prefer a logo rather than a fancy text of the brand. See link for flip flop strap width. http://feet.thefuntimesguide.com/im…andals.jpg
My initial thought was a beach shack with two flip flops acting as the roof. Also, any subliminal inclusion of music would be good but not required. Please do not feel restricted by my initial thoughts. I am not an artist. I want the real artists to run with this and be creative!
2) A unique placement of color or other element of design that could be put somewhere on a flip flop to designate the brand. This is not simply the placement of the logo. The best example I can give are Christian Louboutin shoes which have bright red bottoms. Any woman who owns a pair would recognize another pair walking down the street.
3) Final version must be vector format.
4) This logo is intended to become a registered trademark. As a result all imagery MUST BE ROYALTY FREE!
