UPDATED BRIEF TO ALL FINALISTS:
Congratulations 🥳 and many thanks for your great designs. I look forward to working with you in the final round.
So, in short, the feedback of my fiends was that the designs overall were a bit too boring for a disruptive, innovative design. So be bold please.
Secondly, the colours need to be adjusted in most designs. See attached reference pic for a reference of colours to use. Also you can incorporate the turquoise/green from http://www.42.fr.
UPDATED BRIEF II:
- See new file in “references” -
I wanted to share it for the final round, but why not now - this way we are all up to date and still in a fair first round (although we’re slightly running out of time). I saw a logo that really appeals to me - it is playful, simple, has a smart connection to education (like a kid’s drawing), shows plurality and creativity, and stands out because it’s bold. Basically it is stripes of paint in different colours. It would serve as a background. I uploaded the logo for your reference. Disregard the blocked letters, it only concerns the paint-stripes in the background. All other things in the briefing below remain true. Many thanks, I really appreciate it and hope you are still having fun! 😁
As I learn about my preferences as you turn in designs - for which many thanks! - I have come to appreciate the designs that include an icon of a network. Also those designs that are simple, yet sophisticated, with fluent lines. It does not disqualify the earlier designs, but I have developed a slight preference, hence my updated brief.
Many thanks and all the best,
I am active in the field of education, technology and digital transformation.
I provide services for schools that provide modern education for tech skills. All my services are currently related to 42-schools (see http://www.42.fr or http://www.42.us.org), which is a concept for peer-to-peer education, without teachers, books or lectures, for people to learn skills for the tech industry, regardless their social or financial background (study is for free and no diplomas required).
I have brought the 42 concept to Germany on a voluntary basis, and will now start to provide advisory services (e.g. what does it take to set up a 42-campus, how big should the campus be, what does it cost, legal framework, etc) and project management services (e.g. marketing & PR, campus refurbishment, communications) to the investors who have funded the 42-schools in Germany. I will soon offer my services worldwide (there are soon 40 42-campuses in the network).
Further, my full name is Hester Spiegel-van den Steenhoven. This is a very long name, so I only use Hester Spiegel in my company name. However, with the DV (for Digital Ventures) I wanted to bring back the “vd” from “vdS” (van den Steenhoven). “vdS” in reverse is “SDV” which are the last letters of “HSDV”. It would be nice if this can be incorporated somehow.
