Gear Energy Ltd.
I am the brand new president and CEO of Gear Energy Inc. and I run our little office in here Calgary, Alberta. I am a professional engineer, but also have a bachelor of fine arts in sculpture. 20 years in the industry and for all of them i have been riding my bike to work (even through the frigid winters). Our little company has the dream of growing into something great. We currently have 4 producing oil and gas wells from Alberta to the far north of British Columbia. All the guys here are relatively young and decently fashionable and interesting. (IMHO). We are all very technical and probably leaning a little on the nerdy side of cool. We will spend almost all our capital drilling oil and gas wells and bringing the products to market. We will also be trying to buy other small oil and gas companies. It all about growing.

We ultimately want to become a public company and will compete with a long list of other oil and gas producers in Canada. We will be marketing to primarily retail and institutional investors. They will be looking for us to inspire confidence that their money will be safe, and will grow under our succesfull development. They will not want us to be flashy or promotional. they will be very focused on real tangible results. Production growth and value creation. They will all want to make money. And lots of it.
Our first logo is pretty lame, I have attached it. I spent the weekend trying to come up with some alternatives, but none of them are inspiring me, or my team. We need to include the company name, and I think it would be nice to have a memorable recognizable visual element. I would like it to be interesting, slightly funky and cool, but very professional. Simple is probably better as we don't want to have to explain it to anyone. I like the image of Cogs and gears, maybe some way to imply that we desire significant growth... although that could be a challenge. We will use the logo on all our business cards as well as corporate correspondence and ultimately our website. I have also attached the initial ideas that we came up with. None of them really fit the bill, but should give you an idea of where our heads are at. I hope this is enough information to kick this off.
