We’re looking for a fun and playful character illustration that will be the mascot for the company and product. PaintServer is geared towards creating your own “bucket” which is an instance of the drawing application that users can embed on their website. Our idea is that the mascot would be a paint bucket a friendly face and some paint splashing out of it. We’ve sketched out some ideas that illustrate the type of logo we’re seeking.
Here’s some more thoughts:
* Character should be fun while maintaining a level of professionalism
* We’d like to include elements of a computer or a server. We have some illustrations that show the paint bucket being plugged into the wall or with buttons on the front of the bucket that depict server components.
* We’d like to add some human features to the paint bucket to provide some character or anthropomorphization.
The character illustration should be playful and welcoming. We’re thinking that the character’s body would be the paint bucket and there would be some paint splashing out of the top. The bucket should probably have a handle too. We’re not looking for any arms or legs on the bucket, just a friendly face. It would also be nice to see some splotches or paint drips that are around the logo, like the character is leaking some paint.
The character shouldn’t be merely a paint bucket but a combination of a paint bucket and a computer server. So incorporating some elements such as a cord with a plug and/or some buttons on the front is also important. We’d like to use a limited color palette in the body illustration while having more colors such as a rainbow gradient in the paint splotches. We’d like to be able to display the logo as monochrome in some cases.
Here’s some more thoughts:
* We’d like to see examples of the illustration next to our name “PaintServer” with a few different font options. We’ve included some example fonts that we like, but we’re open to suggestions on font faces.
