The game's about baking pancakes. And by skillfully using playing cards to collect points and win. Routine: The cards must be placed on the edge of the table and then flicked with the hands. To turn the pancake in the "pan". If you catch a card successfully, you earn points. If you fail, you dropped the pancake and lose points....
Working title is PANCAKE FLIP.
The players are to be drawn thematically into the topic "pancakes", "restaurant/diner", "kitchen". The style should be cute-quirky-yummy. But also quite cheeky, wild and fun.
In the first step, a ready-to-print layout for the game board has to be designed. The winning designer will receive the possibility to then also design the matching playing cards and the game box in 3D .
What is now to be designed?
-Game board design
VERY Important: please also read the design briefing for the playing cards to fully understand the concept of the game. You find it in the box below.
BRIEFING FOR GAME BOARD
The game board is of course the center of the game. At the edges of each side there are 4 storage options for pancake cards. Each side belongs to one player. Each player has a color. The sides should be color-coded per player color. The players will have wooden discs to use for "walking in the points spiral" in their matching color. You can freely chose nice colors per player. I can produce wooden chips in almost any matching color from PANTONE. On the picture this is solved very ugly. It doesn't have to jump into your eye like that. Important is the thematic presentation. It can be solved for example simply over a coloured cook cap on the fields or a coloured pancake. Please use rather pastel colors. I only had to chose those colors because the wooden playing chips (see pictures) have that color in the prototype. You do not need to match that exact color (see above, maybe a pastel color etc.).
In the middle of the playing field there is a points SPIRAL. (on the foto it is not really a spiral but it should be) The diameter of the circles is 1,5 cm. The spiral should contain numbers from 1-100. Each 10 should be highlighted. The 100 should also be highlighted. Thematically the spiral could represent a "pan" and the circles are small pancakes. But: be creative. The green lines around the spiral and red dots on it are to be taken over in the shown way (see image 3641) . Can of course be in a more matching colour. Lines dont have to be green. The red dots along the lines must always contain the number "5".
Important, the game board should remind you of the theme. Desire to make pancakes and turning pancakes in the pan. Have fun, flipping cards and enjoy delicious pancakes. Remember its a family game 8-88 years, should be looking YUMMY and FUN.
IMPORTANT: The designer will be credited on the game. The plan is to distribute it in Germany via Amazon and local toy stores. I will book a Kickstarter campaign with it. Winning design will get the full contract of designing all elements of the game.
